Catching up with a high school crush – Part 1 [MF]

This is the first part of a love affair with an old crush from high school, and this part is more gonemild. This happened about a month ago. Hope you enjoy it.

I had the opportunity to travel back to my home town of San Diego for a work trip. It was frankly a welcomed week away from home, because I primarily work from home. I let David, my friend from San Diego, know that I would be flying in, upon which he let me know about a party going on that night. There were some old friends who would be there too, so kind of a mini-reunion of friends from high school. Good friends were difficult to come by in high school, although I don’t think that has changed much since.

I arrived at the party around 8 PM that night after a quick freshening up back at my hotel. Warm shouts of greetings from friends I haven’t seen in a decade or more welcomed me in. I made my rounds, always with a drink in hand, catching up and answering the same trite questions repeatedly. “How the hell are you?” “Where do you live now?” “What do you do for a living?” I enjoyed catching up with old friends, and making a few new ones.

At one point, a new group of ladies arrived to the same warm welcome that greeted me. Among all the commotion, I could see her – Emily, my high school crush. She and I coincidentally had a number of the same classes together in our junior and senior years. We kinda clicked and got along well with each other. Our friendship grew and we became good friends, and I had the biggest crush on her. Unfortunately, in high school I lacked the self-confidence to pursue her, so as our time together in high school came to a close, we drifted apart. I haven’t seen her in over a decade, but here she is again and she looked even more gorgeous.

Like a magnet, I was drawn to her. I was grinning ear to ear as I approached her, and saw her face light up as she recognized me as well.

“Emily! Hey! It’s been so long!” I exclaimed as I wrapped her up in a big hug.

“Wow, I didn’t expect to see you here,” she said as she returned the hug.

We spent the next hour or so catching up as we walked around the expansive property. The property had a pleasant winding path with warm path lights. The more we talked, the more it felt like our lives ran parallel in another dimension. We were both married around the same time, we both had two kids, share similar hobbies, and work in related fields. Everything felt natural and we clicked again.

After about 6 drinks, I decided to confess, “You know, I’ve always had the biggest crush on you. Crush isn’t a strong enough word, but I was a fool back in high school for not taking any action.”She blushed and gasped jokingly. “No way!” she laughed, “I’ve known this forever dummy,” she punched my arm. “I was always disappointed that you didn’t tell me this back then.”

I’m sure the alcohol contributed to my boldness. I grabbed her hand, turned her to face me. I looked deeply into her beautiful blue eyes. Time slowed down as we stared into each other’s eyes, holding our breaths. I saw the look of desire and longing in her eyes, so I pushed forward. Pressing her back against a tree, I pressed my body into hers, and pressed my lips against hers. My hands roamed to her lower back and through her hair as we continued to make out. Years of missed opportunities and wanting were expressed in our deep, passionate kisses.

Suddenly, we hear some girls calling for Emily. Thankfully we were hidden behind the tree, and hidden from spying eyes.

“Fuck,” she said as she broke our kiss and breathed heavily. “I have to go…”

“Are you sure?” I kissed her hard again.

“No, but yes,” she broke our kiss again, and explained that she committed to celebrate the birthday of one of her friends with a girls night out. She slipped her hand into my pocket and grabbed my phone, added her phone number, “Stay in touch.”

She bit my lip and ran off, leaving my head spinning. I grabbed my phone and sent her a text, “Have fun with your friends. Come to my hotel afterwards.”
