I am a (new-ish) professor and I also consult on the side. In one of my consulting trips, I was staying at a nice hotel with a decent bar. First night there, I went up to the bar, sitting alone, having some bar food for a quick dinner.
I was surprised to see an ex-student of mine walk in calling out for me and waving at me from far off with a big smile. She told me she was on a girls’ trip, and sat down beside me. We caught up on what she had been upto after graduating, and I told her about my work over drinks. It didn’t take long for our talk to go from academic stuff to outright flirting. She was wearing a dress and I’m pretty sure she noticed where my eyes wandered to occasionally during the conversation. I invited her to my room to “continue catching up”, but we both knew what we were going to do.
We were all over each other the moment we entered the room. I had her in my arms, both of us aggressively making out. She had to leave the day after, but we made sure that this wasn’t the only time on that trip that she was in my room.
