This isn’t exactly the most erotic story but I wanted to share.
Among the people I talk to not many know that I’m in an open relationship (which is also long distance). It’s not as though I’m hiding it out of shame, and I don’t actively avoid the topic that is my girlfriend, but I don’t like explaining the arrangement we have 50x times when I can simply not tell people.
So when I use tinder I just make it clear that I’m not looking for a relationship, in fact a lot of the people I hook up with at my school don’t even know that I have a girlfriend, they probably just assume that Danielle (my girlfriend) is a fuckbuddy who attends a neighboring college and can therefore only visit on weekends.
Some time ago, around October, one of the girls I was seeing regularly (who I happened to be getting quite close with) asked me if I’d ever want to start a formal relationship wit her. Keep in mind, she and I are friendly but at the time nowhere near the level of personal intimacy to warrant a relationship. We were physical and that is all, but I guess semi-frequent sex and post-sex cuddling will do that to someone.
So I had to tell her about my girlfriend and our arrangement, making her one of the ten people who know about my arrangement, she took it quite well but I tried to distance myself from her a bit after.
We kept seeing eachother and outside of our sex lives I can say we’re pretty good friends. The only thing that changed after she found out was she’d do this thing where she’d playfully mock the explicit, almost legal sounding, constraints of our relationship.
Like in texts she’d invite me to events (or just to get dinner) by asking me if I “Want to go on a not-date”.
Soon my birthday rolls around and she got me a box of cookies, a rose, and a big bag of skittles (iykyk).
The card that came with it read, “I know we’re not like together or anything but it just felt weird to just not say anything so I got you this card.”
And on the inside she hand-wrote “To my favorite strictly casual boy, thank you for making the past few months so much easier and awakening the size queen I never knew I had in me”. And below that she had kissed the paper with pink lipstick.
I have this card in the same box where I keep my highschool diploma.
