Looking for writers for female-centric erotic comic project

Hey reddit! I run an independent comic publishing company. At the moment I'm working on a comic project that aims to showcase female-written erotica. I'm very interested in original ideas as well as adapting some stories and working with the original authors to bring them to graphic form.

The artists are mostly professionals of the comic book world (who have worked with major publishers) and are already on board with the project. Yes, this is paid work.

Here is a sample of the type of work we produce – Imgur

Please send me a message if you are interested (with a link to your stories or poems) and we can discuss the details. Also feel free to post questions here as well. Look forward to hearing your awesome ideas!

  1. What is the publishing company called? What is the percentage paid to writers? How much copyright do I get to keep vs. what gets dissolved? What are my cross promotion rights, and what are my royalty rights? I make adult comics, but am shopping for a fair contract before I publish. As of now I prefer to keep my work small scale, so I do not submit pieces online due to copyright infringement, and a lack of company to back me up with prosecution of such. I’m considering broadening my audience, but am not going to do so without fair contract negotiations. What will my involvement be as a writer? Do I get 100% credit, or do you feel that the artist should have a say in the product here? Also, do you do your own color, or is it an outside colorist? This is just because I think you have a great color pallet, and has nothing to do with any possible contract. I posted here, so that you can possibly generate more traffic if you answer. While this may or may not be a contract I’m interested in once defined, others may be very interested.

  2. We are an independent startup by the name of Interweb Comics. We are a collective of freelance writers, editors and artists. The stuff we do gets sold online through our own channels. This is a relatively small operation so I make sure everyone has a fair say in things. As a writer you get 100% credit for writing (under a penname or your real name if you choose). You work directly with the editors and artists, providing feedback during the illustration and post-production phase. The contract is very simple and gives the writer much leeway to pursue other channels without issue. You retain the rights to publish the story you wrote elsewhere, however we just get the rights to sell the comic based on that script. We always try to promote the writers’ and artists’ other works when we can. We work with approximately 30 artists (line artists, colorists, letterers) from all over the work. Some of them have worked for top-tier comic publishers. Thanks for the compliment on the color palette. Please send me an inquiry with any questions you might have.
