The first night was rather uneventful, we were tired from the long drive and just rolled off to sleep in our hotel. Next morning we were woken up by bright sunlight, so bright that we had not seen in a while. It was amazing to look outside. The vast swaths of desert with cactus all over. We went for a walk and then decided to treat ourselves with some hot breakfast.
After breakfast, we started joking, having so much privacy and all the fun we could do with that. We thought about getting tinder or other dating apps but hesitated due to privacy concerns. After that, we decided to just post on reddit and see if there was any interest around. We were not entirely sure given the sparse population coupled with the non english speaking population.
We did not think much about our post and just went about our day.
We went to the historic downtown, the vast open desert and did a few trails, exhausted at the end of the day we returned to our hotel. The warm shower after an exhausting day was the perfect complement. We cranked the air conditioning all the way down and cuddled in our sheets. We finally got to catch up on our notifications from the day.
We had just three reddit pings from our post, we were not enthused but still decided to check it out. One was from an older couple in their 50s, one from a single guy wanting to get with us and finally one from an interacial Black and Chinese couple in their late 30s. As we caught our breaths, Crystal offered all of us ice cold lemonade. It was refreshing to drink after a vigorous session. We decided to take a light walk outside as the weather was getting really beautiful. We talked some more, Crystal and Jacob invited us to tour with them but we could not since we were travelling with our personal car. So we thought about it for a while, then decided to go back to our hotel.
We talked to the front desk and they let us check out early without late fees. We called them back and asked if they still wanted to travel together. We decided that while driving we would follow them and whenever we stop we could stay in the RV. This was the best decision we ever made. The next four days were filled with adventure and lots of fun. We really enjoyed our trip.
