[WP] Your significant other will do literally ANYTHING in order to get you to fail No Nut November… from DirtyWritingPrompts

After leaving work one chilly November evening, Josh made his way to his car. That day was the last Friday of November. As Josh drove home, he dreaded walking through the front door. He had decided to participate in No Nut November that year, thinking it’d be easy. Boy was he wrong. After realizing how hard it’d be after just two days, he decided to try and keep his wife, Mary, from finding out. That didn’t go quite to plan, as later that same day Mary felt in the mood. When Josh turned her down, something unheard of, she pressed him until he spilled the beans. From that day on, she did everything short of drugging him to try to get him to break. That is if you don’t count the aphrodisiac tea recipe she found online. However, he never would have imagined that what he came home to that evening was in the playbook.

Josh pulled up the drive, parking his new, grey, Bismarck Roadmistress in the garage. Something seemed off, however. He stepped out into the drive, only now noticing the white, Cheron Equestrian parked in front of his lawn. That was his friend Sam’s car. What was she doing here, he thought. Josh walked back into the garage and hit the garage door button, closing it. He entered the house, knocked his shoes off, then made his way to the living room.

Sitting across from each other in the living room were Mary and Sam. They were chatting and drinking coffee as he walked in.

“You’re home Josh, how was work?” Mary asked.

Still confused, Josh responded, “Fine, nothing has really changed around there in the past week. Same old, same old.”

“Hi Josh,” said Sam with her cute voice.

Josh wasn’t really in the mood for guests that evening, but if it got his wife off his back trying to get him to give in, he figured it’d be worth it.

“Hi, Sam. I didn’t know you guys talk,” Josh replied to her.

Mary spoke up, “We don’t really, but I needed help with something that I couldn’t quite figure out myself. I figured she’d be just the person able to figure it out.”

“Alright, well I’ll just go relax in the other room and let you two get back into whatever it is you were doing.” Josh got ready to excuse himself from the room.

“Actually, Josh, I need you for this next part. Why don’t you come sit.” Mary indicated to the seat between Sam and herself.

Somewhat annoyed by his failed bid to escape socializing, Josh sat in the chair.

“As I’m sure you’re well aware, I’ve been having a hard time swaying your mind off of this ‘No Nut November’ nonsense. I figured I’d have Sam here help bring you to your senses.”

Mary smiled impishly as Josh looked back and forth between the two women. “And why would you want Sam’s help with that?”

“Well, you seem to have a keen eye for your dear little Sammy. I figured she might be the last little push you needed to free yourself from the needless constraints.” Mary let out a little chuckle.

Josh froze for a moment, “Now hold on, I don’t have eyes for her. We’re just friends. Good friends, but still just friends. I never thought about her like that.”

Sam spoke up with her soft voice, not used to interjecting. “Come on Josh, you really didn’t think it was obvious?”

Josh looked at the two women staring him down. They both knew full well what his feelings towards Sam were. “Well, I liked to think so, but nothing ever happened Mary.”

“Oh, I know that. You wouldn’t cheat on me. You’re dedicated, and I love that about you. It just makes this November thing that much more difficult.” Mary continued sewing her words together in an oddly suggestive manner.

“You really think I didn’t notice?” Sam asked Josh shyly, averting her eyes. Josh shook his head, genuinely surprised she knew. “It was pretty obvious,” she replied. “Besides,” she blushed, but continued, “if I had a problem with it, I would have quit talking to you a long time ago.”

Josh was flabbergasted. His mouth hung open slightly as he looked between the two women. This was clearly not some kind of joke. Their eyes, deep green and sky blue for his wife and friend respectively, seemed to read his every thought.

Josh took a moment, unable to wrap his head around what was happening. “So what is it you’re trying to say?”

“Well, as I’m sure you’re very aware, Sam here is single. I think she’d make a nice addition to our home here. I’ve been talking to her for the past week, and she’s quite nice to speak to. She’s agreed to spend the whole weekend here. If you decide this whole November thing is really unnecessary, you have until Midnight Sunday to consummate her position here as our new housemate. If, however, you conclude that this silly little challenge is really worth it to you, say goodbye to your chances with Sam forever.”

Josh sat back in his chair. Every expectation he ever had was just cleaved apart in one fell swoop. How am I supposed to accept an offer like that? He thought. However, the real question was, how was he supposed to decline it?

It was all true. Mary had hit the nail on the head. She knew exactly who came in second place in Josh’s mind. Josh and Mary were happily married, and they hardly ever fought, but Mary wasn’t the whole package. She was tall for a woman, standing at five foot eight, only two inches below his six-foot stature. Sam, on the other hand, was only five-two. Mary’s long, rich, brown hair was gorgeous, but Sam’s fine, blonde hair was so majestic looking that it could’ve been an angle’s. Mary had healthy, average toned skin, and Sam could easily be confused for a spirit during the winter months. Mary sported a pair of DDDs, which despite their size did not sag too much. Sam’s chest exhibited modest C cups. She had breasts, but compared to Mary they were no match. Though their lightness made them completely gravity defying.

Besides their looks, their personalities were also quite different. Mary was strong but still womanly. She worked part-time as a secretary’s assistant for a huge company. She didn’t need to work, but keeping up with the house left her with far too much time on her hands for her liking. Sam on the other hand was a bit of a ditz. She was nice, but she wasn’t at all equipped to work in a professional environment. She worked as a waitress at a local sports bar. The pay was enough for her, but the hours weren’t the greatest. She liked it enough. However, what they both had in common was that they would both make great mothers.

Together, Mary and Sam possessed every possible trait Josh could admire in a woman. Cute, strong, petite, thick, caring, challenging, dominant, submissive and much more. This is what made Josh’s dilemma so intense. Did he want to fail No Nut November? No, more importantly, did he want to take on another wife? Things could easily end up going horribly wrong. But, they could also go horribly right, so much so that he’d never have another complaint. Sam could finally live the home life as she always dreamed, Mary could put in more hours and better her standing in the company, and Josh could spend every day with his two favorite people, not to mention having his every fantasy fulfilled in the bedroom. Josh and Mary were very adventurous, but even with their adventurous attitudes, some things just didn’t work out. With Sam in the mix, the sky was the limit.

The wheels in Josh’s mind ran at full steam. Mary spoke up, “It’s not a trick, everything we’ve said is genuine.”

Josh looked at Mary. He never even considered it could be a trap. He was too busy talking himself into the idea.

“And all of this is to get me to fail No Nut November?” Josh asked, a light tone of suspicion in the question.

Mary smiled once again, “Well, I’d be lying if I said yes. My mind collects many interesting ideas. I’ve had an idea vaguely like this in the back of my mind for a while now. It just seemed as though this was the best time to bring it forward.”

Josh looked to Sam.

She spoke up after a moment of gathering courage, “Well I don’t think you noticed, but I’ve always admired you, more than in a friendly way. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of the two of you. When Mary called to talk to me about this, I was so happy. My first feeling was relief that the day that seemed impossible was finally approaching. The thought of spending the rest of my life with you makes me happier than anything else. I never thought I’d get this chance.”

Holy hell! Josh thought. That was the most beautiful thing anyone had ever said to him. He never even imagined she felt that way about him. At that moment, his keen eye became a beating heart. He loved both of them in their own unique way. His mind was made up, he no longer had a choice.

Josh inhaled, “You’ve really outdone yourself this time Mary. You win. There’s no possible way I could say no to this.”

Sam’s eyes opened wider than Josh had ever seen. She jumped up off the couch and ran to him, tears forming in her eyes. She practically jumped on top of him as she pulled herself tightly against his chest. “You really mean that? I’m so happy. I love you, Josh.” Sam put her teary eyes into his shoulder and held on tightly to him.

Josh embraced her, stroking her long, blonde hair. He looked up to find Mary smiling at the two of them. The sight made her genuinely happy. After a minute or two of emotion, Sam calmed down and returned to her seat.

When things settled down, Mary spoke up, “Now that you’ve accepted, I should probably tell you the rest. She’s not just your second wife. I’m a bit more curious than I let on. Don’t think you get to have her all to yourself.”

Josh looked over at Sam, “I’m happy with anything that means we can be together. I look up to Mary too. I’ve never really considered being with a girl, but if it’s with her then I’m sure it’ll be ok,” Sam said looking dreamily back at him.

Josh’s new future appeared before him, and it looked like he’d enjoy every moment of it. They were all very excited to see what the future had in store for them.
