Back when I was working at an insurance company, right after graduating college, one of my coworkers and I had an on-again, off-again thing. She was bi and mostly dated guys, but we were an awesome team. Our desks were about 10 feet apart, and we constantly had a Skype chat going. It even got to the point where she started calling me her work wife.
Anyway, whenever she was single for a little bit and didn’t want to deal with Tinder or dating apps, we hooked up. It usually went in waves. After she swore she was done with guys, we’d hang out a lot more, and it’d get really intense for a week or two.
Most of the time, she just crashed at my place for the weekend or I crashed at hers, and we got delivery 3-4 times a day. But, sometimes one of us had to work over the weekend or had something come up, so we only got a day or a night together.
When that happened, we started going on long lunch breaks. We would tell everyone (if they even asked) that the line just took forever or traffic was the worst. But honestly, I only lived 2 miles away, so we barely spent any of our hour-long lunch break on the road. And the best part was that our company’s system didn’t flag any of our chats. I mean, it was completely innocent. We were just talking about how excited we were for lunch.
