Chapter 1 Claire Moves In

Claire had just finished her first year at university when she learned that her parents were going on a summer vacation cruise. She was supposed to be staying at the house they owned for the summer while out for classes but did not want to stay there all alone. The young girl tried to get one of her friends to come to stay for the summer. Unfortunately, they had all already planned the summer out or had their own trips to go on. That left her feeling disappointed that she would have to spend the summer living alone after sharing a dorm all year. This was going to be the first time that she had to stay in a house alone for an extended period of time. Claire had just packed her bags to head home for the summer when she thought of the last minute idea. She planned to try to stay with her brother who had just gotten his own apartment this year. Her idea was her last shot at not spending the entire summer alone at the family-sized house.

Ethan received the text asking if she could stay with him in the extra bedroom for the summer. She still had money saved up from her after class college job at the cafe and was willing to help with bills if he needed it. The older brother had to think about it for a couple of hours while she was driving to their hometown. He had just moved into the apartment. Ethan was still getting adjusted to living alone. It was the thought of having to worry about being dressed and appropriate again that made him unwilling to let her stay. By the time that his younger sister made it to town, he was still undecided. She called him on the phone, “Hey Ethan, so can I stay there this summer? I promise not to be a bother.” He sighed into the mic on the phone before replying, “You can stay if you keep the place clean. You know how much I hate cleaning.” Claire sounded excited when she said, “Sounds like a deal to me. I am a good cleaner and you could use some company. I will be there in 15 minutes. Bye.” She hung the phone up before even hearing him say goodbye.

The younger sister showed up right on time, pulling into the parking space outside just under 15 minutes later. Ethan walked out to help her carry in the few bags that she brought. She told him, “Thanks, I have a few things to pick up from the house but this is most of my things.” The older brother carried all of the bags except the lights, which he left for his small sister to grab. He teased her with four big bags in his hands, “Can you handle that one bag?” Claire told him, “Shut up, I have been working out in college. I could totally beat you up if I wanted to.” The older brother let her believe that she was a tough woman now that she went to college. He joked, “I can see you got big and strong since leaving for school last summer.” She giggled at his subtle joke then heard him say, “My place is on the second floor, first door on the right.” Then she pranced off into the building with the one bag.

When Ethan came through the main door of the building, she was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. “I already forgot which apartment you said you were staying in.” The little sister laughed when showing that she was not paying much attention to him already. He sighed again, knowing this was how the summer would be when staying with Claire. She was the youngest child so was always the spoiled, bratty sibling. Ethan told her, “Up the stairs, first door on the right.” Then she was skipping up the stairs like she was not a grown adult now. The older brother was annoyed already by her antics, hoping that she would calm down soon. He could not help but notice how much she had changed and grown up through college though. Before she would have complained about having to carry her own bag or even about staying in an apartment. It must have been since it was basically a dorm. She even started to look different, both in her style and physical appearance. Claire was growing into a woman. It was clear by the way her body had rounded out since going to college, she had the full figure of a grown woman now.

The older brother was surprised to see that she had changed so much in one year. Then he began to wonder if it was a change or if he was just noticing it after being apart for too long. This was the longest that the siblings had gone without seeing each other, they were always very close growing up. Ethan got to the apartment to see that she was already plopped down on the guest bed. She teased him, “Could you be any slower?” The older brother dropped her bags on the floor before saying, “Next time you can carry the heavy bags.” Claire jumped from the bed to give her brother a big hug, “I am just kidding. Thank you so much for letting me stay with you this summer, I did not want to be alone in that house that long.” She leaned up giving him a quick kiss on the cheek to show him gratitude. The two of them sat in the guestroom catching up while she unpacked her bags for her stay. Ethan started to enjoy the company after living alone for months, he was not the type to have house guests too often. He still could not get over the fact that she was now such a beautiful young lady.

Claire walked around the room putting clothes in the closet, putting her small decorations around the room, and adjusting it all to her liking. The older brother kept her company during the unpacking while starting to notice that she was taking over the room. She even had a few decorations for the living room that she insisted on adding to the decor. Ethan’s bachelor pad did not have almost any decorations, it was a fresh slate for a woman to decorate and he figured that her feminine touch could only help. Claire had to put her black hair up in a bun after working up a moving sweat, so Ethan left to turn on the air. When he returned she had changed into a pair of small black athletic shorts and a red shirt that was tied in a knot just below the ribs. The older brother knew at that moment that he had a hot college sister but did not think much more of it, other than wondering if she was a wild party girl.
