Previously our adventurers made contact with a Novian diplomat, Ayala, who was overseeing the defense of part of their ancient abandoned capital. After assisting in driving off two attacking Black Claw pirate vessels the Novians retrofitted the Rose Rocket and Sparrow while Clark had a romantic encounter with a Novian woman Nyxi. Now, after Ayala mentioned another recently activated suit of Novian armor, our crew is returning to the Novian temple to investigate.
————
“Didn’t think we’d be back here so soon,” Ayala mentioned from the copilot’s seat.
“Me neither, it looks like that Black Claw ship is right where we left it too.” Lisa observed as they passed overhead. The temple’s robotic guardians still stood guard around it, but there was little other activity to be seen. The temple was quite today.
Lisa put down her ship in that same clearing they had left 3 days earlier, as Clark touched the Sparrow down next to them. Within a few moments the adventurers and Ayala were on their way. Anity and Clark were speaking at the base of the Rose Rocket’s loading ramp chatting briefly as the others walked towards the jungle.
“So I just stay here again?” Clark replied a little disappointed.
“We do need someone to watch the ships, and besides you have Ayala’s assistant bot to keep you company this time.” Anity replied, half teasing.
“It… doesn’t even speak Common…” Clark replied.
“More for you to do then, see if you can teach it some while we’re gone!” Anity suggested as she began to walk through the jungle towards the others.
“How am I… very funny!” Clark called back. “Your butt looks good in that armor!” he followed up in a teasing voice.
“Oh course it does, much better than yours looks!” Anity called as she disappeared behind some trees. Clark just rolled his eyes and headed back up the ramp.
Anity quickly caught up with the others as they came out the otherside of the small strip of jungle by the temple entrance. “Those guardians aren’t going to mistake us for trial goers again are they?” Rachel was asking Ayala.
Ayala shook her head, “Oh no, certainly not with the armor. Besides, I should be able to clear up any misunderstandings should they arise.”
“Do you want to talk to them then? To get us inside?” Rachel asked.
“I don’t think she’ll need to,” Lisa cut in, “look there!”
By the temple gate was a large man wearing the male version of the same Novian armor the women were wearing. He was reclining against the outer temple wall and looked to be dozing in it’s shade.
“Who do you think it is?” Rachel asked.
“I don’t know, but we need to find out.” Anity said as she pushed a couple of buttons on her wristguard, turning on her energy shield.
“It wouldn’t be advisable to utilize weapons or violence here,” Ayala cautioned. “The temple guards will react harshly to any aggressive action, and I can’t promise I’ll be able to dissuade them should they target you.”
“So let’s hope he’s friendly then?” Rachel asked.
“Or that he makes the first move, like those dumb pirates in the locker room.” Anity reminded her.
“Funny you mention that,” Lisa broke in, “I think I might know who that is!”
“What… really? Who?” A surprised Rachel asked.
“Let’s see if I’m right,” Lisa replied as she hurried over to the man. “Hello there?” she called out.
The man opened his eyes in surprise and blinked in the bright light, trying to see who was calling out. He was quiet for a moment as a surprised look overtook his face. “Lisa right? Your name was Lisa?”
Lisa nodded, “I thought it might be you, good to see you’re awake.”
The man’s eyes welled up almost instantly. He started shaking his head side-to-side “I’m… I’m so sorry, I couldn’t… didn’t mean to…” he said, through his tears.
“It’s alright, I know you couldn’t control yourself.” Lisa comforted him. “I don’t think I ever caught your name though.”
“Gregory,” the man said with a sniff, “and thank you.”
“Well… I don’t believe it.” Rachel said as she got closer.
“I’m to assume you know this man?” Ayala asked.
“He’s one of the pirates who helped us win the trial.” Rachel explained. “He was bitten by those flying plant things, and was unconscious after the fight, like Lisa was.”
“What happened to everyone anyway?” Gregory asked, “When I woke up I was alone in that locker room.”
“Your crewmates turned their weapons on us,” Anity said in a bit of a dry voice. “Lisa was shot, but the guardians eliminated them.”
Gregory looked stunned, “No… they didn’t? So… they’re all dead?”
“The guardians’ weapons would put them in suspended animation for a time. They’re likely in holding cells within the temple, if they haven’t been transferred elsewhere.” Ayala clarified.
“Oh… thank goodness. What’s going to happen to them?” Gregory asked.
“They’ll be put on trial, and likely face a prison sentence, but should otherwise be healthy.” Ayala explained. “You are their crewmate then?”
“Yes, yes I am.” Gregory said, “We’ve been friends since we all joined Black Claw to fight against that damned corrupt galactic government.”
“Hmm, and there are others of your Black Claw here on the planet?” Ayala asked.
“Yes, there’s several ships camped on an island East of here. I wanted to contact them for help, but I’ve not been allowed near our old ship by the guards. All my stuff is there, so I’ve been a little lost as to what to do. I’m so glad you all showed up!” Gregory paused a minute and looked at Ayala more curiously now, “Sorry, who are you again? I don’t think we’ve met.”
“You may call me Ayala, I’m a Novain delegate traveling with these individuals for a time.” Ayala explained.
Gregory jaw dropped as he looked at the women gathered around him, “Wait… Novian. Like from this planet Novian? That means your civilization is still alive? It’s not just ruins and robots here?”
“There’s a whole lot of them,” Anity warned, “You pirates are on thin ice right now.”
“Wait, wait… I didn’t know about anyone living here. We were told everyone was long dead.” Gregory said, shaking his hands nervously, “You have to believe me.”
“Do not worry, I would much rather resolve this misunderstanding through diplomacy.” Ayala reassured the frightened pirate. “Can you lead us to your camp? I wish to discuss this matter with your leaders. If that’s okay with you Lisa?”
“It’s fine with me,” Lisa replied, “Dialog sounds great. I’d rather not fight anymore myself.”
“Careful not to trust them too much,” Anity warned, “these pirates aren’t known for keeping their word. That scar on Lisa’s arm is proof of that”
“I appreciate the warning,” Ayala replied, “but we should always give diplomacy a try.”
“Fine, just don’t say I didn’t warn you.” an exasperated Anity replied.
————
“Who are you again?” The voice over the comm was asking.
“I’m Gregory Simpston, I was on the Black Hook. ID# 434980” Gregory was explaining. “I’ve met a Novian diplomat who wants to talk to you. We just want to land and have a meeting.”
There was a bit of silence on the other end of the comm for a moment. Then an uncertain voice replied “Boss says you can land in the yellow zone. Tell them nothing funny though or we will blow ‘em out of the sky.”
With permission granted The Rose Rocket and Sparrow touched down on a sandy shoreline between several trees in an area marked with yellow beacons. Ayala, Lisa, Rachel and Gregory descended the ramp and walked along the shoreline. Ahead waiting for them were several pirates waiting with weapons at ready. They looked uncertain and tense at the site of the four approaching individuals, but one of them recognized Gregory, and the mood eased up somewhat.
They quickly got to talking. After a while the others came outside and watched from a distance. Anity was watching with disgust. “This isn’t going to end well. I need to do something.” She told a listening Clark.
“Let them have a try.” Clark disagreed, “There will be time enough to kill those bastards if you’re right and things go downhill.”
“Maybe,” Anity admitted, “but I’d rather not take that chance.”
“You’ve gotta learn to trust people,” Clark replied, “Lisa and her group are a good bunch. What are you thinking to do anyway?”
“Don’t get me wrong I’m super grateful to them, but I trust you, and that’s about it these days.” Anity replied, “Besides I’m not going to do anything dumb, just cover for me if they come back. I need to see something.”
Clark shook his head as Anity walked towards the treeline without waiting for a reply. “You still have a nice ass.” He called as she disappeared into the island jungle without a response.
———-
A short while later Lisa came back to the ship to see a lone Clark standing guard by the foot of the Rose Rocket. “How goes diplomacy?” Clark asked as Lisa approached.
Lisa shrugged, “I think it’s going okay. Ayala really knows how to put people at ease. Is Anity here? We need her input on something.”
“Anity, um you need her like right now?” Clark asked nervously.
“Yeah, there’s some questions about the pirate presence on other planets, like Cerluria. Ayala wants to hear both sides and Anity knows that side better than any of us.” Lisa explained.
“True, she does…” Clark replied.
“So… where is she? In the ship?” Lisa asked, getting a little concerned. “I said I’d just be gone a second.”
“Well um… honestly?” Clark fumbled over his words as he glanced briefly at the forest, “She uhhh went…”
“Oh no.” Lisa replied with a heavy sigh.
“Yeah well, you know how she feels about pirates.”
“What do you think she’ll do?”
“Hopefully she’s just taking a look, like on Cerluria.”
“She wouldn’t do anything more would she?”
“Well, maybe not…?”
“Shit,” Lisa swore as she stared into the forest. If Anity did something rash it could really throw off Ayala’s negotiations, not to mention leave them surrounded by suddenly hostile pirates. What to do now?
—————
Option A: Let’s just trust Anity will be sane and not cause any problems. Clark could give an explanation about the pirates activity on Cerluria in Anity’s place after all.
Option B: Send Clark to go find Anity and bring her back, stall the meeting until they return.
Option C: Lisa and Clark should go together to find Anity. Hopefully two people can find her faster than one, and before anyone notices they’re all gone.
Option D: Lisa should just tell the pirates what happened with Anity, and that she’s likely snooping around the base somewhere. Just be truthful, apologize, and explain the situation as best she can.

Hi again everyone! 😊
Hope you all enjoyed this week’s plot-heavy chapter. We’ll be back to more kinky stuff soon enough I promise! 😉 Let me know your choice for next week in the comments below!
As for last week’s unchosen choices, the ones to leave the planet would have followed other plotlines as you may have suspected. The choice to head in the direction of the repeating pirate ship would have brought our adventurers to the same location, but this would have been more hostile without Gregory there to bring the two sides together.
Hope you all have a fun and sexy day! 👋

I vote Option D, They are Heroes/Main Characters after ALL. Let’s See Their Moral Fortitude. They (Heroes/Main Characters) Don’t seem to be sneaky or conniving like common Pirates, OR Are they…..
