I [M] participated in a semen study

Last year I responded to an ad looking for volunteers for a men’s sexual health study. What can I say, I was bored during covid. Anyway, when I arrived at the facility for my first meeting I was told that the purpose of the study was twofold: 1) to identify the effect of abstinence on semen quality (measured by volume, sperm count, motility etc), and 2) to determine if daily ED medication had any effect on the same parameters. Being that I was a healthy 34 year old man without ED, my participation was to be broken into two phases: first I would provide data without medication, and then 30 days later again after having been on the medication.

I was first given a very thorough medical exam – including my first prostate exam – and then once I cleared all of that I was given a cup and asked to wait in a room. The tech came in and told me to turn around and stimulate myself to a full erection (what she told me I should rate as a 9 or 10 out of 10) and then turn around. She measured my erection, noted it, and then told me to ejaculate into the cup, which she then took from me. I was instructed to wait in the waiting room for an hour, eat or drink nothing but water, and then return. We repeated the whole process about an hour later. Then I was sent home and instructed to abstain from all sexual activity and return the next day. The same process happened, and then I was told to come back two days later. Then with a three day gap, a five day gap, and finally a 7 day gap (the longest I’ve ever gone without ejaculating).

I got a week off, and then the whole cycle repeated one more time. Then I was prescribed 2.5mg of daily cialis and told to return in a month when the whole cycle repeated twice more. I still have the results and they were kind of interesting, but the ultimate conclusion of the study was that the optimal time to collect semen for IVF is three days after ejaculation, with no adverse effects from cialis.PM me if you want to know more.

  1. Anything more to tell about the tech? Usually they leave you to it in a room on your own.
