I scheduled my appointment with Nurse Janice for this early this morning. She wanted to give me time to make sure we could cover everything we needed to cover. I agreed and met her in her clinic shortly afterwards.
While I might have normally gone in for a full physical, for this exam I accepted her professional opinion that we keep things isolated to her area of expertise. So, I went in, sat down on the bed and waited for her to start.
She started with a series of sexual health questions, moving into my habits and history. You know, those standard questionnaire items: whether or not I was at risk for any STIs and which ones those might be. I’m a nineteen year old guy, it’s perfectly reasonable for her to want to know what I’m getting up to. As far as she knows I’m getting up to more than I’m telling her. Being careful and thorough is part of her job. A job she proved to be very good at. Once she was satisfied with my answers to that she insisted I recount to her my “self pleasure routine”, as she so colorfully described it, in exhaustive detail. Whenever she felt I was being lacking she would remind me, sternly, that I shouldn’t be wasting her time without giving her an answer. She instructed me to finish my recounting and that I would need to be given a physical exam to make sure I was being honest.
She told me to lie down, undressed, on her exam table. She got on her gloves while I did my part. Or worse, Invoke the stern nurse’s wrath. Luckily for me, I did no such thing. I might have even glimpsed a smile of her face. She looked closely at the tip, checking its color and size. She told me everything looked good there and I thought I was good to go. I was, of course, far from being in a position to assume my authority.
When I began to put my pants back on she scolded me to remain on the bed and wait for her to finish. I apologized. She put her hand on my cheek and told me I needed to be more careful to follow her instructions. Her attitude was much more gentle by this point. At least, it could have been confused for gentler. Her touch against my cheek was warm and comforting. Encouraging even. Like a disciplinarian for most of the morning, there was a hint of affection in her when she wanted there to be. Though, after a moment of repose, she returned to firmness in telling me I needed to stand up and bend over.
She swapped gloves and picked up a bottle of lubricant, applying it to her index and middle fingers. I bent over while she explained that I needed a quick rectal exam. With one hand on my butt, spreading my cheeks, she inserted her fingers slowly. Once inside and I tried not to squirm or wince, she began feeling around the sides of my rectum. She pulled her fingers out and reinserted them until she found my prostate. She told me it felt fine and removed her fingers again. She rubbed my back a bit to calm me back down after that. As it was nerve wracking. She explained what all she felt and that I did a good job. I was allowed to get dressed again and I left her office after that.
