[28F] You aren’t going to believe what I did this week

Hey! So this is a true story about something I did just this week, and I’m kind of bored right now, and I figured, hey, why not tell it? It’s certainly something I know will probably get a lot of interest.

I’ll just very basically go over the story so you know roughly what happened, and if you want to fill in all the details, you can message and talk to me!

So I’m a woman, which might go without saying from my profile, and I live with a pair of other women, who are both very close friends of mine. Let’s call them A & C.

We’re a very nerdy group of friends, and A & C are also part of another wider group of friends, also pretty nerdy, that includes both guys and girls. They hang out all the time, usually at least once a week, and they often come over here to hang out because it’s pretty convenient and I don’t mind at all.

They’re all working professionals, as am I. It’s just a really normal group of friends.

So one of the guys in the group, Ben, has a younger brother called Ryan. And when Ben comes over and hangs out, he’s often talking about Ryan, because Ryan is extremely shy and nerdy and not doing a whole lot with his life. He doesn’t really get out. He doesn’t really have friends. It’s all kinda said.

We also see Ryan from time to time – mostly A & C, not me so much – because they go hang out at Ben’s place and they see his younger brother then. So he knows us, reasonably well, even if he doesn’t have any friends of his own.

With holidays coming up, we’d been thinking a lot about it, and we were talking about maybe doing something for him, something that could get his confidence up or just throw a bit of a curveball into his life.

Ryan lives with Ben and his parents, so one day earlier this week, when we knew his parents were out of town, A, C & myself all turned up at Ben’s place, and knocked on the door.

After a bit of waiting, Ryan came out of his room and opened the door for us, and we told him we were looking for Ben.

He said Ben wasn’t home, and so we suggested maybe we should come in and wait for him, if that was okay? Ryan was like sure, and told us we could hang out in the living room. We suggested he join us and have a chat while we waited for his brother.

About 40 minutes passed, and Ben still hadn’t turned up, and by this point, Ryan, who had barely been keeping up with conversation, suggested maybe he wouldn’t be home for a while.

That’s when we gave each other the signal, and told him that we actually had some bad news and good some news, and that he should probably sit down in the middle of the living room couch to hear it.

He was pretty confused, and looked quite worried, but did we asked.

The bad news, we said, was that his brother wasn’t coming, and we knew he wasn’t. We’d deliberately come at a time when we knew he was preoccupied.

Why would we do that?

Well, because the good news is, we’d been feeling pretty sorry for him lately, it’s almost the season of giving, and so we had a surprise for him.

Without elaborating any further than that, myself, A & C walked over to Ryan and knelt down on the floor in front of him.
