Tbh I can understand and relate to the breaking up part because of the difference in the sexual part, but afterwards the three of you acted like assholes towards him (as far as I can tell in your story and how it sounds) and it’s better for him that he goes on without all of you. Sounds toxic to me bullying him like that for no reason, very childish too.
