I ask this because so many times when someone brings up favorite books, you see The Story of O and The Beauty Trilogy (1980’s, I think, maybe earlier). But there are no repeats that I can think of for books from the last two decades. Is it because there are way so many more books in the erotica genre? I must say I can’t think of any that meet those earlier standards.

It’s on my to-read list but Maidenhead by Tamara Faith Berger is (I think) part of the modern erotica cannon. Everything by her looks salacious, actually.
