STRANGER AT THE MOVIE THEATER

It started out as every Thursday morning usually did.
Me, multi tasking at the speed of light trying to get everyone out the door and to their destinations on time.
My daughter Alex never gave me much trouble in the morning.
Her brother Paul on the other hand , he expected to be waited on just like his father.
Breakfast served to them, clothes laid out for the day.
Dragging Paul out of bed was a task of its own.
Of course it had to be raining today Witch would only make more of a challenge at the school drop off area.

Micheal, my husband came running down the stairs asking me to assist him with tying his tie.
I looked him in the eyes as I corrected his poorly done knot .
He became edgy, and nervous whenever Our eyes met.
It wasn’t always this way.
I’m pretty sure he’s been cheating on me for several years now.
There are enough tell tale signs to back up my suspension.
I’ve never asked him .
I don’t really see the point of asking a question that will result in a lie, as well as an attempt to make me feel crazy or paranoid.
Micheal and I had not been intimate in almost three years.
I’m not as young and pretty as when we first met, but either was he.
He often had to go out of town “ for work”.
Received phone calls that required him to leave during the evening in a rush.
I’ve learned to just block it out.
I’m not up for a long battle in court and disrupting the lives of our children.
That’s what divorce consists of most of the time.
I’m just pushing through until the kids are off to college.

The one thing I love about Thursdays is my matinee movie .
Every Thursday I look forward to getting lost in a good film.
It’s my only real escape from my shitty reality.

Micheal pecked my cheek, high five to Paul and a pat on Alexis’s head.
Then, out the door without missing a step.

I put on my mom voice “ CMON GUYS LETS HUSTLE “!
The kids grabbed their backpacks and headed to the mini van.
