Rules about Amazon publishing?

Hey, I’m mostly a lurker on here but this sub as well as some others have got me back into writing erotic literature.

I have a rather long novel that I’ve been working with off and on for a few years and I’ve been thinking that I want to publish it when it’s done.

Some of the content in it is very… taboo. To put it lightly, and I was wondering if the Amazon self-publishing service has strict rules regarding content?

If so are there any other places I could go to publish my work?

Thanks so much for any and all support, keep on keeping on.

  1. Try r/eroticauthors

But yes it depends on genre. You flag yourself as erotica, it better be sweeter than vanilla ice cream. No rape, no dub con, no blackmail or violence. No incest, no step-fantasy. Consent is king.

If you’re writing dark romance… You have more leeway, but I’m not sure what the goal posts are.

Oh yeah, goal posts. Amazon reserves the right to not tell you what you fucked up on. Only you made a mistake and you need to fix it, whatever it is.
