What erotic books would you recommend to a newcomer that wants to try his hand at writing erotica?

I wrote a bit of erotica because I’m interested in the genre, but I never read much into it. And it’s pretty obvious that writing without having read a thing about it gives a bad result.

So, do you have books to recommend with specific strengths (good sex scenes, good characters, good structure, good niche)? I myself don’t know much what I would prefer about the genre or not, I only know I hated fifty shades of grey.

I see a truckload of recommandations on the internet but don’t really what’s a strong/weak point about the work just with the summary.

Any recommendation would be appreciated, thank you.

  1. Do you want to write a book? Or shorter stories?

I suggest you visit [literotica.com](https://literotica.com) and have a read. There are both shorts and longer stories there. Look for the ones with higher ranks to get a glimpse of what is thought as good writing.
