[MF] Writing our own ticket

My husband’s boss flirts with me and I am not confident how to behave about it. I’m no raving beauty and Craig flirts with everyone, other wives, female subordinates, waitresses. He’s one of those guys who is just always full of himself, kind of laughs at this own jokes. He’s the Sales Manager at the dealership where Don works. He’s a super salesman, very persuasive.

I tell Don that his boss creeps me out and he sort of shrugs it off. He knows I’d never cheat on him. He keeps an eye on his boss when we’re all together, and that makes me feel better. On the other hand when we’re alone he jokes about how “if we play our cards right” he could turn this to his advantage at the office. He says he’s the favorite sales rep because the Manager likes me so much. I think he’s nuts, that his boss likes everyone.

In mid-August they celebrated the fifth anniversary of the “new” showroom with an office party. The large space was packed with suppliers, staff, and local officials. There was a bar, and a band, and it really was a lot of fun. Don doesn’t enjoy dancing but he always likes to watch me, and I even took a turn with the corporate vice president from Detroit!

At the end it was just the employees, and Craig got frisky with me as we danced. This was the first time he ever touched me inappropriately. It wasn’t a big deal, a little ass and a little breast, and I told Don about it as we rode home. He laughed and said I ought to have let Craig have a treat. In bed before we went to sleep I brought the subject up again, more explicit about what Craig had done. He asked if I hadn’t really enjoyed the attention and, still a little drunk, I admitted that it was nice to be desired, even by another man. Just before he fell asleep, Don mumbled “You should think about it. Craig can write my ticket.”

For the last two weeks I’ve thought about it. I mentioned to Don that maybe we should invite Craig over for a Labor Day barbeque. Our eyes locked and he asked me if I was sure. I was.

  1. Honestly sounds like the hubby is a piece of useless shit that is willing to sell you to further his career. He missed the real important part of the conversation of you desiring attention and it taking another person to give that to you.
