Not that it really matters, but it was my 4th cousin.
Long one. TL;DR is the title.
So my cousin is 3 years older than me.

Rewind back when I was very young and still in elementary school.
We moved into some project housing type things and that’s where I met a lot of my current friends and multiple cousins.
Then I met this one girl who I instantly had the biggest crush on, found out she was my cousin not long after. I was pretty bummed.
Fast forward to a few months ago, we’re both now out of school and both in our mid 20’s. Things were pretty normal, pretty open cousin relationship. I knew for a long time she was pretty much a hoe, and she admits it all the time. She says she’s addicted to sex, and so am I.
She ended up being single and without a fuckbuddy for about 2 months which is literally a record for her, so I think that’s how this all came together.
We’d come over and watch movies together, including with our other cousins and it wasn’t uncommon for us all to be laying on each other, especially if there’s not much bed or couch space.
One day it was just me and her watching a movie, I was laying on one side of my bed and she on the other, but laying side by side if that makes sense.
She’s one of those people that’s very affectionate to everybody, so when she kind of laid her head on my shoulder, I didn’t really think much of it.
Eventually she fell asleep and in her sleep started to cuddle me, which is when I felt my childhood crush coming back so I didn’t resist.
Eventually she rolled over on her back and had put her leg over mine, but her leg was bent making her knee stick up in the air. The way we was laying I couldn’t really put my hands anywhere except resting on her thigh.
About halfway through the movie it had gotten to the point where my hand was very close to her vagina, which I had started to kind of rub her inner thigh with my fingers and I could start to feel her sorta of pushing her leg further towards mine so it’d make my hand go down.
Now I knew it was gonna happen, but I didn’t wanna initiate, so I kept the same distance while remaining close to her vagina, still brushing her inner thigh with my fingers and I KNOW it was driving her crazy. She eventually started squirming a little and had a really strong grip on my arm.
Nothing happened, movie ended, I took her home around 1 am, she then asked if I wanted to watch a movie which I hadn’t watched yet, so I agreed.
Same thing happened, but this time I actually started fingering her. We both kept pulling away because we knew it was wrong, but we couldn’t help it. Eventually she just had this “fuck it” sort of look to which she then just sat up, took everything off, and hopped right on top of me.
I hate to admit it, but that was the best sex and best head that I’ve ever had in my life. Trust me, it does feel wrong, but neither of us can get ourselves to quit. We’re both addicted to sex and we both now know exactly what the other likes.
I myself never had any problem with separating sex and intimacy. I can have a hook up with no emotional connection, so I didn’t really think it’d be a problem. Her on the other hand, she’s admitted she wishes we could be together. I mean, I do too, but it can’t and won’t happen so I’m fine with keeping it sexual.
In social situations though nothing has changed, other than her giving me “the look” and in some cases actually flashing me when everybody’s backs are turned.
Nobody suspects anything, I do feel wrong doing it, but I just have yet find anybody who can satisfy everything I want.

To my knowledge, no state restricts the marriage of fourth cousins. The strictest states don’t allow first cousin marriages, and obviously closer relations would be banned as well, but no state restricts anything beyond second cousin. Even from a bleak genetic perspective, the risk of reinforced recessive genes is only barely increased at the fourth cousin level. Even then, these days I’d say it’s not even certain that you want to have biological kids, many millennials aren’t super sold on having their own kids, preferring to adopt or just be child free. If you’re not having kids, and there’s no psychological trauma involved, it should be fine.
I’m not trying to convince you either way, because the law is obviously only part of everything, and I imagine you’re thinking more about how your family would feel, but if you’re worried about the legal or biological implications, you probably don’t need to be.

And by “it can’t and won’t happen” is more so me thinking about how family will view/treat us because it’s a small town, and I happen to have the biggest family that lives within and around this town. So even very distant relatives are seen just the same as a sibling.
I knew genetically it didn’t really matter, but always raised around the mentality of even the tiniest bit of relation is completely off limits, even step family.

FDR married his 5th cousin and that was in an age that was much more close minded so I wouldn’t worry. And hell Eisenstein married his first cousin.
