As parents, we are always concerned for our children’s welfare, from before they’re born straight through to our last goodbye. As such, unless you are in the kind of family that talks freely about their private lives, your parents have most likely only been guessing that your sexual maturity has been blossoming. So hearing his daughter exploring herself physically in a healthy way at an appropriate age in a safe environment was no doubt reassuring to your father. As long as he didn’t suspect you had a lover in there with you, that is, especially the kind that can make life very complex and evermore difficult.
