Special containment procedures: Item SCP-5067 is to be kept in an air-tight chamber composed entirely of copper, a metal which is known for its natural anti-bacterial surface. In addition, the entrance to the containment chamber must be fitted with an airlock, with anti-bacterial cleaning procedures and other means of decontamination such as incineration. When interaction with the item is required, only male individuals should enter, and no more than 1 individual should enter the chamber at any given time.
Appearance: SCP-5067 appears as an ice-like substance roughly in the shape of a cube, with a portion of the cube carved out from one of the corners. The block has a very slight blue glow, which is only perceivable in absolute darkness. Observers should note that the object does not change in weight or size (24 kg, 266cm^3 ). Although the object appears ice-like, experiments involving heating the chamber far beyond the melting point were conducted and no change in the object was detected. Due to the containment chamber being made of copper, no experiments have been conducted at temperatures above copper’s melting point of 1984 ^o F.

SCP-5067 was originally found in the >!Dune facility, located in northern Greenland, which in 2021 was studying ruins of ancient agricultural society.!< While on site, >!Dune facility researchers!< located a crudely constructed copper chamber, composed of melted copper poured on top of a brick structure. In addition, some copper tablets were found written in >!Scandinavian!<, which warned of devastating effects if the object was ever removed from it’s containment shelter. Remains were found in the >!ruins!<, always in pairs of two or more. Analysis of the tablets revealed that the tablets were actually >!older than the copper chamber itself.!<
>!The director of the Dune facility!< wisely listened to the warning of the tablets, and decided to have the object moved to >!North American Research Facility 3B!<, where the object was placed in a much larger copper chamber, notably without an airlock. Personnel wore gas-masks over armor, notably consisting of 5 males and 2 females. Personnel used welders to cut open a hole in the melted copper structure, removed some of the bricks and bagged them for future analysis, and carefully removed SCP-5067. After a short amount of time, the object began to noticeably glow such that it was visibly emitting blue light.
>!The director of NARF 3B made the decision to engage safety locks on the door to the chamber, and even primed explosives, due to fears the object was about to become extremely dangerous.!<
Personnel inside the chamber began showing odd behavior, which began with the female technicians beginning to distract and flirt with the male personnel. It was observed that while the 5 males initially resisted the advances of the two females and insisted they focus on the task at hand, the men quickly became similarly distracted.
Any sense of obligation quickly vanished, and all subjects began engaging in sexual relations, seemingly without care for their job, the object, or the personnel watching from camera feeds outside. The subjects seemed to engage in sexual acts without pause, even when most of them had achieved an orgasm many times. Over the course of a few hours, >!Director Heidgen!< continued to observe the chamber and expected the personnel to fall asleep at some point, and continued to construct theories on the nature of the threat.
However, after 16 hours the technicians inside the chamber showed no signs of becoming tired, and >!Director Heidgen!< had concluded that the threat was likely of bacterial or viral nature. Orders were given that an temporary airlock be made around the entrance to the pre-existing copper chamber, and emergency biological hazard suits were to be brought out of storage.
>!Director Heidgen!< is to be commended for caring about the lives of the 7 infected individuals within the chamber, as their continued survival has proven incredibly important to understanding the nature of the threat. Within 2 days since discipline broke down among those in the chamber, >!Heidgen!< had completed the construction of the plastic airlock chamber and means of decontamination. Individuals were sent into the chamber to give those inside water and food, but had to quickly leave as the group inside refused to stay back from personnel and rapidly approached them, while insisting they join and attempting to seduce them in various ways. The group inside then quickly drank and ate the rations while masturbating and engaging in more sexual activity.
>!Director Heidgen!< kept the hazard-suit adorned technicians in the airlock for several hours and had them take of their suits after several decontamination cycles. With no apparent change in their behavior among the 2 males and 2 females for several more hours, the group was let out of the airlock chamber. It was determined that in the future a cart would be loaded with food and water and placed within the airlock, as to minimize the threat of the infection spreading when delivering supplies to the infected individuals.
The next logical step was to separate the group of infected individuals from SCP-5067, which had ceased glowing despite personnel still being within the chamber. A sample of the air within the chamber revealed that only one unknown organism was present within the air of the chamber, and due to the fact that personnel never came into physical contact with the object, it’s believed that the object produces or mutates air-borne organisms which cause the symptoms experienced by the 7 technicians.
While the nature of the threat indicates a low probability of the effects subsiding upon separation from SCP-5067, the operation was conducted despite this, as it was the only way to ensure safe access to the object in the future. It was believed that the air-borne organisms would likely somehow continue to be produced by the infected individuals, so a nearly identical chamber was constructed to house them, albeit outfitted with a more permanent copper airlock with built-in decontamination and other means such as >!a system to suddenly remove and incinerate air from the room.!<
Later the object and the infected individuals were transported to a biological containment facility in >!southern Florida!< which specialized in SCPs of this nature. The infected were continuously observed by biologists and psychologists, who observed that they rarely slept, seemingly resisting sleep until their bodies gave into it, and only drank or ate when absolutely necessary. In one experiment, they were purposely not given any food or water, and they did not complain or stop. It is believed that without an easy supply of food and water for some time, they would likely die. They also became increasingly fetishist, engaging in more and more involved or unusual sexual acts. At one point, the room was injected with gas which would put the individuals to sleep, and the two females were removed from the room and medically studied. >!The two females were pregnant, so abortions were performed, and the two underwent operations to prevent them from being able to conceive in the future before being returned to the chamber. However, after returning to the chamber, it was observed that the males became much less interested in the females, and all individuals became much more ‘introverted’ only occasionally engaging in sex with each other, usually with members of the same sex. It is believed that somehow, they are all aware of the inability to conceive, although they seem to be no less active. It is believed that should any other personnel enter the chamber, all 7 individuals would immediately assault them.!<
It should be noted that the copper tablets kept in storage speak of more than one of these objects existing, although it is unclear if they share the same effects or even appear the same. >!As of 6/6/2023, a team is currently working on finding!< any such similar objects so that they can be secured and contained. The permanent effects of infection and speed of transmission classify this object as a potentially apocalyptic threat should containment ever be breached or any similar objects found.
The last event of importance was >!in February 2023!< when 2 female technicians were caught purposely cutting small holes into their hazard suits before entering the chamber containing the infected individuals, using faked approval documentation in an attempt to get past security. It is unknown if the event was somehow solicited by an unknown capability of SCP-5067, but it is believed that the two were simply unfit for duty. >!They remain detained in a lower section of the facility and routinely ask to be delivered into the chamber to be imprisoned within rather than be imprisoned outside of it. Director Heidgen has yet to give them an answer.!<
