With whipped cream and a cherry on top [FM]

This is a long ago story so I’ll see what I can remember.

When I was in college I had a crappy minimum-wage job and dated a fellow broke student with a crappy minimum-wage job. But his job had a perk.

He worked at an ice cream parlour. In the summer the hours were long, and in the fall/winter they’d close up at 6 o’clock because it was dark out and no one wanted ice cream. If I had the night off, I’d go and meet him at the ice cream parlour at closing time. This place was one of those shops that’s semi-basement level, about 6 steps down from street level, so it had windows that let in some light, and you could see out, but all you would see was feet basically, and the only way someone would look in is if they dropped something on the ground and had to stoop down to pick it up.

So after the door was locked and the till was counted, we would get busy with the toppings – getting all sticky and getting licked clean. The first time, it started “accidentally” with ice cream melting and dripping from the cone on a warm day, but then we got creative with chocolate sauce, we’d get into the whipped cream and butterscotch and that would be it. We would generally finish with him taking me from behind against the counter, facing the front door, so we could watch the people walk by. Love that risk of getting caught. No one ever looked in the windows as far as I know! If they did they would’ve got an eyeful of me topless and sticky… I myself always glance in open windows in the evening given the chance, you never know what you might see. Ah youth!
