Take a shower with him and make it part of the foreplay.
Don’t stick your tongue in so deep? If it was inside his ass, cleaning the outside won’t make a difference no matter how much you scrub.

If he wants to get ate, than he needs to clean hella better than a simple wipe job. Up to and including douching. If he can’t meet that bar, no rimjob for him!
I can’t believe no one gave advice on how he should go about cleaning. It’s pretty common that people think its clean enough. Get a douch/enema tool/turkey baster lookn thing and gently squirt water up there and releasing it out like he would if he was poppn a squat. Have him keep doin it till the water that comes out is clear. Then you’re good and safe from scooby snacks
You have to do an enema (2-3 times at least) before doing ANY butt stuff.

I would definitely take him in the shower and show him how to clean his butthole.
I usually get a soapy finger (or even two!) and push it up inside myself and rinse several times very thoroughly. There will be nothing at all there either on the outside or in the inside as far as a tongue might be able to go.
Using that method I’ve never once had a complaint or issue with smells or taste or worse.
If you do shoot water up there, just be sure to do that some time before sex because it can take a while for all the water to fully come out.
Dunno why there’s so much talk of enemas here. Just use a finger or two a bit inside when showering beforehand and you’ll be good unless you’re trying to put enough tongue in to make Gene Simmons blush.
Also best practice is to poop before a shower, if he hasn’t gone already that day then the intestines are loaded up an waiting for enough to evacuate. Just don’t mess around back there if that hasn’t been done or you’re more likely to need a towel
