I got home early around three in the afternoon and lounged around at home for an amount of time. You still had no clue I had come home earlier than usual, and I had no plan on telling you until you arrived home. I know that you weren’t one for surprises, but I had a feeling you might like this one.
The sun sunk slowly as the time passed while I made preparations for dinner for the both of us, setting up the house a bit for what I felt like would be a fun night. The scattered rose petals on the floor, the candles lighting up the dining and the general area around, the lights dimmed just to set the mood right.
At around half-passed six you arrived home with a tired yet uplifting smile on your face. It looked like work had drawn you out today like any other day. I greeted you with a smile and a kiss with my hand on your cheek.
“You’re home early baby, anything special happening today?” You told me as you looked around the living room, your gaze slightly darkening.
