She was a bit nerdy and while she wasn’t an introvert she definitely tended towards the shy side.
Anyway, one time she got a job interview at an office for a local fashion company downtown by the college.
She did her makeup and dressed up in a professional women’s dress for the interview. I dropped her off and waited outside the building.
She came back only a few minutes later and I asked her what happened.
She said they told that her outfit was awful and her dress “stifled” them. They told her to go take it off and come back in an hour not wearing a “costume”.
Personally we both thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with her dress.
And we joked “What do they mean come back without a costume on? If regular clothes are a costume do they want you to go in your underwear?”
I parked the car and we got coffee while she debated what to do and whether she even wanted to go back to the interview.
