I was sitting in class when Keith and his friends strolled in a little after the bell. “please take your seats gentlemen,” said Mr. Price.
The ambled in slowly, joking to each other about something. Keith looked for an available seat and found the only one left next to me. We were in the back row, I in the corner. Him to the right of me.
“Please, everyone, no talking” said Mr. Price. I took notice of Keith’s disappointment and anxiousness. Mr. Price was staring us down at the front of the projector, visibly annoyed by the boys’ tardiness.
I liked Keith. I don’t think he knew I existed, but I’ve seen him around school. He was always joking around, very energetic and horsing around with everyone.
“Today, we have a documentary to watch this period.” I want you to take notes. There will be a quiz later.
I loved video days. And this one was unexpected. Mr. Price must have forgotten to make a lesson plan.
Predictably, Keith tried to get his friend’s attention in front of him by dropping a pencil down his shirt. He was starting to laugh until he noticed Mr. Price glaring from the corner. He sat back down and tried to look serious.
