$ Anna: “Hey, how do I get past this door? Didn’t I already get the key?”
She is stuck on one of the levels of Ori, a video game I had brought to our family’s vacation home. No one wanted to play besides me for several days until now when she suddenly shows an interest. I’m just happy that the games I brought are getting some more use. It also gives me a nice reason to sit near her for a while.
$ Win: “I think you have to go back, and drop down. There’s a whole area you didn’t explore.”
I get up from the couch to grab a drink. No one else is around today. It makes it easy to secretly snap another quick picture of her with my phone as I walk back. I admit I have a bit of an infatuation with her, even though I know I shouldn’t. I would never act. It’s just fun to think about, and something to remember her by. Forbidden fruit at its finest.
I offer to help her get back on track in the game, but she finds her own way. I watch her play, and some time passes. A short while later she puts down the controller.
