We live in the same neighborhood and you’ve been our babysitter for years and my little girls adore you… you’re like their cool older sister… and you’ve just gotten home for summer break from college. It’s a brutally hot weekend as you stroll around the block looking for something to do. You pass by our house and I’m moving and stacking a load of firewood we just had delivered. I’m just finishing the last bit when you get to our house. We start chatting as I sweep up the driveway, trying not to be too obvious about looking at you. I’ve watched how you’ve grown up over the years and develop into a lovely woman… you wearing your short shorts and tanktop causing me to have thoughts I shouldn’t have. We are having an easy conversation talking about how your school year was… about how your studies are going… about your plans for the summer (which you don’t really have yet)… how much you missed my girls and me telling you how much they’ve missed you and keep asking when you’ll be back…. talking about how hot this heat wave is. I ask you if you want to go get your swimsuit and have a swim since I’m done working for the day and the girls would love to see you when they get back from shopping with their mom. You say that sounds great and that you’ll be right back. I tell you to let yourself in the side gate and I’ll be back there.

Rub-a-dub daydream (MF)
I’ve made it to Friday morning, but the week has left me drained, unmotivated and utterly useless at work. Longing for a nice quiet day off, or just a nice quiet day at work where nothing breaks and nothing needs to be accomplished, I find myself daydreaming of a nice, long, hot soak in a big bathtub.
I picture one of those bathrooms you only see in the movies or tours of celebrity’s homes…the ones that seem to go on forever… beautiful marble and glass brick walls…. huge walk in shower with a shower system that puts water out like a waterfall… and of course, the big bathtub.
