Dog walking is an odd job and I love it for that. I have keys to million dollar homes. I’ve saved a client who was having a heart attack as I arrived. I’ve had to alter a route because a bear had wandered into the neighborhood (Midwest, not alaska). Ive experienced some weird stuff. One client in particular will always have my number though.
Her house was my second visit of the day. I hopped in my jeep to send a quick “On my way!” She didn’t reply to the text, but I did see her active on Facebook mobile liking something. When I got to her place I knocked and waited to be polite. Waited. Nothing. Knocked again, then let myself in. “Emily?” I call out at a pretty high tone. I know she’s home. No biggie. She’s probably busy. I got a job to do. I start looking for the dog. Normally he is downstairs pushing his nose at the door to go. Nowhere to be seen. Ok sometimes he’s upstairs. So I walk up the stairs to this landing right above the main door where I called out.
