I stepped out of my private room at the Rugged Mountain Health Resort, feeling the cool tile on my bare feet. It was the start of my vacation and my heart was racing even though my feet were still. I was only nineteen, but after a few years of working I had vacation time to burn or else I’d have to wait until next year for more. It was the dead of winter, but instead of going somewhere with warm beaches and sun this time of year, I decided instead to look up a mountain resort. Somewhere hot where it was cold.
I saw some ski lodges that looked pretty dry until I came across the page for an “All-Male Health Resort”. I was drawn in immediately, noticing that it wasn’t too costly for a private room and a big package including deep massages, facials, and social time with rich, older men. There was a big pool and here I was outside of my room, looking down at it from three floors above. They requested you keep your regular clothes in your room, to help promote a friendly atmosphere. Everyone was wearing soft white bathrobes, wrapped in towels, or walking around naked.
