The rain beat down mercilessly on their heavy travelling coats, they were soaked through to their skin. Adrienne slowed and wiped her face,
“We need to get out of this rain.” Henry looked down at her, her chest rising and falling with each embattled breath, she was tired as well.
“Well we need to press on first, there is naught here to shelter us.” He said peering around the trail and only seeing forests around. She assented and they continued walking on, each step becoming harder than the last.
After around thirty minutes of trudging further through the deepening mud, they were greeted by a welcome site, a derelict barn. Resisting the urge to go barrelling in (after all they would not be the only ones seeking shelter) Henry drew his sword and creeped closer.
Adrienne stood watching. And shivering from the eaves of the wood. Henry returned, “All clear let’s go.” She followed wordlessly.
