She saw him as he walked to a nearby table, sipping on a freshly poured beer and staring at his phone. He seemed to check it every minute, like he was waiting for someone. Her heart started to flutter and she could feel the drops of sweat starting to form on her arms. The butterflies in the pit of her stomach told her all she needed to know. He was the one. She took a deep breath, picked up the half empty glass from the table she was sitting at, and walked over to him.
“Hi! Can I join you?”
Startled, he looked up from his phone. “Sure”, he said, not expecting the extra company.
“You looked bored standing here by yourself. I was waiting for some friends to come here as well, but they got tied up with work and can’t make it. I figured you would be more fun to talk to than sitting at the table by myself.”
“Oh, I’d be happy to keep you company! I just got off work a little bit ago. It was a long day, so I decided to come here for a drink. I’ve never been here before, but I really like their beer. I was trying to see what this ‘gose’, stuff is. Its really unique.”
