Mary looked over her long blonde ponytail, her apron, and the makeup she had around her deep blue eyes before clocking in. It was her last week working for Barker’s Coffeehouse before moving away for college. It was both scary and exciting. Mary had lived in this small town of 1,200 people her whole life and had hardly stepped a foot outside of it. She worked every weekend since she was 14 to save up enough money to go. Tenacious in her 5’1″ stature, she had always been a hard worker. She never partied or had flings with boys like her friends, and was always composed, smiling, and positively radiant to everyone around her. Everyone knew Mary as cute and friendly, and until today, not even she would have been able to guess that she possessed a dangerous power.

A few weeks ago, Julie sat on the foot of Mary’s bed, like she had done a thousand times before, and presented Mary with a long paper bag.
“Now Julie you didn’t have to go through the trouble to get me a travel present!” Mary excitedly insisted.
