I was asleep in bed. Well pretending to be asleep. My mom is out somewhere. She’s kind of a mess. Constant rotation of boyfriends. Said she went to get a beer but probably got distracted at the bar. Her latest fling is sitting in the living room watching some profanely trash animated shit. I’m in my room and I keep trying to sleep but the TV is keeping me up. The crude jokes send me spiraling down the porn rabbit hole on my phone, promising myself I’ll just look for a second but couldn’t risk doing anything. After all I just need to spend the next two months here and then I’ll be off to college.
