Dear Diary,
Since I have time off from my grueling coursework this summer, I thought it would be a idea good to head up to Grandma’s house for a visit. She still lives in a cottage-style house a few miles from town, by herself these days. I think she gets lonely up there, but she never lets on when I’m around. Anyway, she had mentioned to my mom that a few of her appliances were on the fritz. I figured stopping by would give us time to catch up while I played Mr. Handyman around the house.
Turns out grandma has a gift for understatement. The house was a mess. First, and most pressing, is that there’s no air conditioning. More on that in a minute. Beyond that, her computer was riddled with viruses. And the phone lines don’t work. She was completely cut off from the world, except through her old cell phone. So far I managed to clean out most of the computer viruses, but I’m still not sure what’s wrong with the phones.
