The Doll Maker – Chapter 1

Fin Brooke was a town where the sky was always that perfect shade of blue and the sun never stopped shining. The woods surrounding my little town held a cacophony of greens and extended farther than any of us had ever wandered. The air was so pure I could feel it cleanse my body each time I took a breath. I had lived here forever, my entire life, but each time I stepped outside there was still a moment where I looked around, stunned that some place like this really did exist. It was a town of firsts and lasts, for those born here and any passerby caught in its spell. The beauty this place held for the locals didn’t even approach that of the visitors. People unlucky enough to have thought this place to be a nice detour off the beaten path. They wanted to take the road untraveled, never realizing their travels would end here.
