Looking Back On When They First Met

*Jack lay in bed, unable to sleep. Next to him, Lauren lay asleep – the gentle intake and exhalation of air the only noise in the gloom. First light was just beginning to force its way round the curtains, allowing him to see the deep back dimples just above her black-cotton knickers. In the heat, she rarely wore more.*

*Three years together hadn’t dampened Jack’s enthusiasm for Lauren’s body. Her curves were more pronounced perhaps, but that merely lead to a greater temptation to make her squeal as he blew the occasional raspberry on her exposed body. As he traced her spine with his eyes, Jack couldn’t help but think back to when they first met…*

The bar was noisy – busy but not over crowded. Jack and his friends were out to celebrate victory in the derby match. Opponents vanquished, it was time to let loose.

Jack’s eye was first caught by Lauren’s dress while they queued for drinks with their respective parties. The silver sequins caught everyone’s eye in fact, the light bouncing off it, shattering in every direction. He smiled down the bar at her and she smiled back. Giving a little wave – her black painted nails sparkling with the embedded glitter. There was no missing her.
