Delia had asked Jacob over plenty of times in the past. Friends since university, there were no secrets between the two, except one. Jacob had recently realised he was falling in love with Delia. Or, was it lust? He’d told himself so in an effort to thwart fantasies of her. There was always chemistry between them at uni but timing was a problem, as the other would always be in a relationship. Over the years, they seemed to have accepted that being close friends was good enough. Plus, Jacob had been genuinely pleased for Delia to marry Mr.Wonderful last year. As had happened a couple of times in the past, she’d taken advantage of her husband being out of town to give them an opportunity to catch up. They only lived ten minutes away from each other but it wasn’t always easy to meet. Life got in the way.
