This is my first time posting in this subreddit and I’m not entirely certain what the community here prefers in writing style and focus. I typically message people in other communities, DPP and APPP. I responded to a DPP thread where this person wanted to feel cheated on as a cuckqueen. I felt jumping right to it with humiliation and degradation would be common but going from start to end not so much. I however tend to feel while specific scenes may be hot that nothing captures my interest quite like backstory. I feel a backstory helps to set tone and permits something of a character arc, even if somewhat small or one-dimensional. I felt detailing inner turmoil or some kind of emotion and something of a proper motivation in the parties are essential. No matter the medium it helps characters come alive and fiction to feel more real or believable. This story was intentionally written in a manner where my character is informing his partner of what had happened in the manner of a narrator to a novel. It was also largely written while I had down time at work so significant chunks of it are not to my liking whether in how things were phrased, that they were rushed through or I just felt it a bit too cliche. I’m pretty certain that anyone will readily recognize those sections when they come across them. I felt I would post it anyway as something of a draft to see whether others share my views of it, if the style is acceptable or if a different style of story telling is preferred. I had gone over it with only a light editorial pen so consider it a rough draft even for what it is. I welcome all criticism, critique and anything else into consideration for any future posts. Without further ado…
