A Night with You

“Are you sure we should be here?” Loud dubstep playing in the background, and lights switching to different colors as the song progresses. A crowd of people gyrating to the music, and long lines at the bar.
“Relax, we are only here to help you out. You have been lounging around the house since your break-up. I was tired of you moping, and honestly dude it was making me depressed,” the blonde-haired friend responded.
“Sigh, sorry about that. It has been like five years, you know.”
“Yea, I know, but it has been four months since the break-up. Look, I do not expect you to find a girlfriend here. I just want you to have some fun.”
“Speaking of girlfriend, yours will kill you if she finds you here,” he chuckled.
“She will understand that I am only doing this for a friend. I am a good boyfriend. Anyway, I am going to grab a beer. Do you want one?”
“Sure.” The blonde proceeded to get into line leaving the friend alone to collect his thoughts. He looks above the crowd since he is a noticeable head taller than most. He has messy sandy blonde hair. His goatee is quite sparse, but he prefers to keep it despite the jokes he receives. He starts thinking about his ex. He thinks about how happy they were together. Right before the break-up, he started looking at rings. It was the most serious he has ever been about a woman or pretty much anything besides eating and his dog. As he continues to think about what transpired, a woman stands in front of him.
“Hello, there.” She waves in his face to get his attention. He looks at her and is instantly captivated by her beauty. Her hair is short, and when the light hits it, it appears to be purple in color. Her eyes are almond shaped and dark. Her lips are full and are curved into a smile.
“Are you talking to me?” He asked.
“Of course, I am. That would be weird to wave in your face if I weren’t talking to you, now would it.” She chuckled.
“Wow, she has a pretty laugh.”
“Thank you!” He looked shocked when she replied.
“Did I just that out loud?” He asked.
“Yes, you did. So, what are you doing all by yourself?”
“I am actually with a friend, but he is grabbing us some beers.” He points to the long line of people. She looks at the line and appears to be thinking about something.
“Since it looks like he is going to be there for a bit, how about you dance with me while you wait.”
Is she serious? Why in the world would she want to dance with me? He thought to himself. He looks at her, and she is patiently waiting for his reply.
“I am not really a good dancer. I don’t want to embarrass you.” He says, trying to make her go away. He notices that she has not left yet.
“I am not a great dancer either, but it doesn’t keep me from enjoying myself. I promise if you get on the dance floor and you still want to leave, I will understand.” She looks at him pleadingly.
“Oh alright.” He said reluctantly.
“Yay!” She pulls him to the dance floor and starts dancing to the beat of the music. She said she is not a great dancer, but she follows the rhythm of the music perfectly. Her dress was loose, but it did not hide her curves. Her legs are long and slender which moves gracefully with the music. The man was so awestruck, that he just stood in the crowd of dancers singling himself out. She notices that he is not dancing.
“I am so sorry. I knew you were uncomfortable, and I practically forced you to come with me.”
“Ummm, I am okay. I kind of got distracted, that’s all.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure.” She appears relieved and decides to get closer to the man. Her breasts pressed against his chest, and he felt a familiar twitch in his pants. He wanted to push her off him so that it did not get worse, but he could not bring himself to do it. She grabs his hands and begins to sway with the music. He started to move with her. As the tempo increased, their movements increased. The room is getting hotter, and he notices that sweat was dripping from his forehead. He was enjoying himself with a stranger. Suddenly, the music starts to slow down, and their movements decrease.
“That was so much fun!” She exclaims. She turns around to look at the man.
“It was really fun. I can’t believe I could dance like that.” He says with a smile surprising himself.
“I am happy that you enjoyed yourself. I will be honest, I noticed that you looked sad, and I wanted to cheer you up somehow.” She looks down with embarrassment. He was speechless and did not know what to say. They walk back to where he originally stood and his friend was waiting with his beer.
“I didn’t know that you could dance like that,” his friend said.
“I didn’t know either. Thanks for the beer.” He starts to drink his beer, and he notices that the woman disappeared somewhere. He knew that it would be temporary, but it did not quell his disappointment.
“So, who was the girl you were dancing with? It seemed like you both were hitting it off pretty well.” The man just realizes that he did not get her name.
“Well, I didn’t get her name or anything. She approached me and asked to dance, we danced, and now I am here with you again.”
“Damn, don’t sound so disappointed,” he laughs. His friend’s phone begins to ring.
“Hey, Jordyn…..I am just here to make him feel better…..No, I am not talking to anyone, but him…..Seriously, you know you are the only one for me….Okay, I will be on my way….” He puts his phone back in his pocket and walks back over.
“She is not happy that I went here without telling her.”
“I assumed that already. What the hell were you thinking?”
“I guess I wasn’t,” he chuckles.
“I think I will stay for a little while longer.” His friend looks at him with wide eyes.
“Are you sure?”
“I would not have said it if I wasn’t sure. Besides, I haven’t finished my beer yet.” He held up his nearly full bottle of Corona beer.
“Alright, I just called for an Uber. I will wait here until it arrives.”
He is about to reply when someone taps him on his shoulder. Spinning around and it is the woman who danced with him earlier.
“Sorry, I left so suddenly. My friend wanted to talk to me before she left. I saw that you were with your friend, so I did not want to interrupt your conversation.”
“Oh…” he said. He felt a kick in the leg from his friend like he was scolding him. He did not know what to say. He assumed she was done with him, so he did not expect her to come back.
“Hey, I just got a text that my Uber is here. I will talk to you later.”His friend heads towards the entrance, leaving them behind.
“I hope that my presence did not cause him to leave.”
“Nah, his girlfriend found out that he was here, and he is quickly going to see her.”
“What was he thinking?”
“I said the same thing to him.” They laughed and went quiet.
“So,” they both said.
“You first,” they said. They start laughing again. He gestures his hand towards her so that she can speak first.
“So, there is a small bar across that is a lot quieter than this place. I was wondering if you would like to come with me.” She looks at his half empty beer. He quickly gulped the last of his beer.
“Let’s go!”
“Okay,” she grabs ahold of his arm like she did before. He tries to suppress the growing appendage in his pants.
Upon entering the bar, a faint piano melody is playing in the background. They sit at the bar. “What can I get for you?” The bartender asked.
“I would like a margarita please.” The bartender then turns to him.
“Sazerac.”
“Coming up.” The bartender places glasses of water by the couple. The woman then sips on the water. He stares out at her. Now that they are out of a dark room, he can have a better look at her. She has caramel skin. He did not notice before, but she has a lip and nose piercings. Usually, he thinks that facial piercings are gaudy, and his friend called him old fashioned. Oddly, he thinks they look nice on her. The bartender places the drinks near them. She takes a long drink. He could not help but stare at how the glass touches her lips. It was almost erotic the way she swallows. The appendage in his pants is starting to harden.
