“This can’t go anywhere,” Mina said.
It was a point she’d made before. She’d said the same thing after our second date.
“I’m only here for work, and it’s important I do well. I don’t have time for distractions. This is a huge opportunity.”
She’s made that point before, too.
There was undeniable chemistry between the two of us. We could joke around and talk to one another for hours. But underneath that, there was something more. It was a raw, carnal connection. It was something I’d never felt before.
She’d tried to tell me she wasn’t my type. She assumed I was into shy, docile women. But the truth is that she was exactly my type. MIna was witty, passionate, and driven. Her intelligence was as captivating as her beauty.
Mina knew the attraction was real and she was scared of where it would take us. When her project ended, she was going home to New Zealand, and I was still going to be living in Texas. Long distance relationships are hard when it takes a few hours to travel to one another. They’re damn near impossible when you have to fly halfway around the world.
