I tend to win people over easily and making friends has never been an issue with me. All it takes is a little bit of conversation and things will go however I want. If I wanted to steer a conversation in a certain direction I can do it. I can calm down volatile situations with my words. I could sell a salt water to a whale and sand to a scorpion. So I became a salesman and it’s pretty easy. I sell residential and commercial security systems so the stuff practically sells itself anyway, but I can always convince a customer to buy a particular upgrade.
But I didn’t always have the gift of gab. It all started for me the summer before high school started when I did a summer abroad program in the U.K. and Ireland. There was a large group of us early teenagers getting some culture and international experience. Of course in our week and a half time spent in Ireland we had to visit the Blarney Stone.
