The fever was high, he drifted in and out sleep. The line between reality and dream vanished and became all became one. He was moving through city streets, homes, offices; drifting effortlessly among the people. He could see each of them and all of them at the same time. When he focused on a person he could see into their mind; see their thoughts and fantasies. He could feel their pain and joy. As he slid past them he left a trace of love with them, helped soothe their souls. He was full of love, bursting with it.
As he was moving through a crowded street he saw Her standing alone checking her phone. She was quite unremarkable and he couldn’t understand why she had caught his attention, but the more he focused on her he realized he could not see into Her. He moved closer, only inches from Her. He could hear Her lightly breathing and see the fine wrinkles around Her eyes. He guessed she was around 50 years old, pretty but in a different kind of way. That’s when he realized she was shining. She had a shiny appearance when She turned in the light. He also realized he was unable to see into Her mind. She was a closed being, shining beautifully in the sun. As he was taking Her in, she abruptly turned and walked, right into him. Well, not into him but through him.
