Chapter 2
(Chris – The Lakehouse)
My heart skipped a beat, as I stepped into the room. My eyes scanned from one side to the other, as I stood there for a few seconds. There was a large living room area, with a giant tv mounted on the wall. She had a dark leather sectional couch, with a few blankets and pillows randomly strewn across. A few articles of clothing remained on the floor, and one bra that rested atop her computer monitor. The kitchen area was open in the same space, the large glass panes allowing the moonlight in. A little island, with stools, and a small table with chairs.
*So cool…*
“It must be so cool to live here…” I said in awe, as I turned back to look out onto the majestic view of the lake. The house seemed so remote, I felt as though I could walk outside and scream at the top of my lungs without another living soul to hear me… except for the babysitter, of course. “You live here all by yourself?”
