Tonight would be the night. All of the waiting, the planning, the anticipation, tonight would be the night that it would all pay off. And what a perfect night for it! The moon was nearly full and hovering one-third of it’s way through it’s nightly transit, shining through the wisps of clouds on an otherwise clear evening. The mid-spring sun had warmed them, and the heat of the day still lingered. It was getting cooler, but a brisk evening wouldn’t matter. A passionate fire burned inside of them, tempered only by some nervous anxiety and lingering hesitation at the unknown. But tonight… tonight would be the night!
As they trekked down the trail towards an unknown destination, twigs and leaves gave way with light crunches and snaps, alerting the world around to the intruders that would soon have their way in these woods. She held his hand, walking mostly beside him as he led the way down the forest path, plunging deeper into it’s depths with determination. Her hand was soft and cool, chilled by the night air. No matter, his hands were large and warm, a warmth he says is fueled by his desire; in reality, the warmth comes from the exertion of hiking the trail and the exhilaration of sneaking away with this beautiful woman.
