LAST DAY – Marlene awoke again, this time alone. Her surprise was relieved as she heard noises from the kitchen. She went to the little clothing pile From Day 1, and pulled out a set of crimson PJ shorts and top with little spaghetti straps, and wrapped herself in the silk robe Dave had provided for her. She walked to the front, in a dank mood. Marlene had to admit that she had *really* enjoyed this, yet she knew that reality coming, they would have to go back to their old lives, so it pained her that she had been able to open herself like this, and now it felt as though it was being taken away. Getting to the kitchen, she could see that Dave already had plates set out, and some coffee going. Dave greeted her with just a smile, as he had hot pancakes in hand. Having a seat at this urging, she accepted the plate and took a few bites, her mood obviously sad.
“Ah, good, I was about to come wake you,” Dave said. “Have a seat.” Sitting breakfast in front of her, he noticed her mood, and said. “ I see the elephant is back.” He sighed a long sigh, then said, “Hang on Mar., we have something to discuss. Give me a minute….but eat some of this breakfast, I worked hard on it.” Dave returned a minute later with a folder and some documents. Dave made sure had a bit to eat first, then slid near and took her hand. “Mar, this has turned out so incredibly well, I could never have *dreamed* that things could be better…yet here we are, at the end of our Arrangement.” He sighed and looked away. “”I’m not sure how *you* feel, but I am going to say it: I don’t want it to end, yet we both know we can’t live like this every day. Sooner or later, we have to go back to reality, dammit.”
Marlene looked at Dave and replied. “I had told myself I would never trust another man, yet you have taken me places I never thought I’d go, and you have walked in waters I never thought I’d let anyone into….all because of this silly “Arrangement” over some damned money. I know how it sounds, I realize that this arrangement & your generosity are going to help secure I & my son’s future. Your kindness really too much, Dave. I just wish….well…I just wish….”
Dave looked at her and nodded. “I know, I know. We will discuss that in a minute, but first….” Dave took a stuffed envelope, & slid it over to her. “The Arrangement was for $3500 total, to pay for tuition and maybe some books. There is $5500 in there. *You* have made this worth every penny of it.” Dave watched as she held it open, looking at it. He touched her wrist, and continued. “This isn’t some B-grade story on an internet board, but because I want the best for you, I would like you to consider what is in this envelope.” And handed it to her.
As Marlene opened it, Dave said, “when we sold the business, I put some of the sale into other areas to generate income. I have about 8 rental properties, and this is one of them. It’s nearer to school than your current place. It’s a duplex, even has a small backyard. There is an old lady next door, so it will be pretty quiet.” Sliding out a little form, he showed Marlene, “This form will allow me to halve the rent with the management company, so that will make it a bit under $400, or about half your current rent. As you get into your nursing clinical, you’re not going to be able to work as much, and this will help make things easier. If you decide you want it, just take all that to the management group. They’ll let me know, and I’ll put in a swing-set for the boy.” Dave had been blabbering, and not noticing that Marlene was just staring at him, so he added “hey…what kid doesn’t want a swing set?”
At first, Marlene just sat there staring at him, too stunned to speak. David Jones was kind enough at the start, just replacing her tires and getting the car tuned up, but when he just handed her $2k more than she thought she would “earn,” she found it difficult to swallow. Marlene tried to express her feelings and then what does this man do? He GIVES her the ability to finish her studies, and improve where her family was living….she absolutely couldn’t believe it. “I’m….just….without words.” Marlene finally spat out.
Dave smiled, and said “I thought you would be pleased. I want to understand, Mar,” he added, “the apartment is a legit lease, so it’s not possible to hold this over your head or any of that. I wanted to do this for you. I think it is simply the right thing to do.”
Marlene had now taken it all it in. She looked from Dave, to the clock on the wall. “Ya know….” She said a bit coy, We still have a few hours, in case there’s something more you’d like to discuss….”
Dave smiled broadly and replied, “Yes mar, I am well aware, and there IS something we are going to discuss…As I *take* you…”
With intent, Dave strode across and, taking the coffee cup from Marlene’s hand, he stood her up, and wrapping one arm around her, Dave gave her a deep kiss. With his free hand, he used his thumb and pointing finger to tug Marlene’s nipple thru the satin PJ top. Kneading the nipple with his pointing finger, Dave asked, “Does Mar want to discuss the future?”
As Marlene watched Dave striding confidently toward her, again, that little part of her melted, so when Dave kissed her and began to knead her nipple, she returned it. After all, she wanted to make her Man happy while he was, well, still hers. Tucking her chin just a tad she coyly responded, “Yes Sir, I am..”
