Would you use a better literotica?

So it's been about ~2 years since this was posted, and I figured I could probably give it a go. Judging by the last post, people seem to like the idea of adding a short story functionality to the search and a better tagging system (any other suggestions are greatly appreciated).

I also really like the idea of trying to help fund the writers. Although I don't think the site would generate enough traffic to be able to pay the readers by ad revenue like youtube we could probably integrate goFundMe or patreon.com more easily into the site. (Maybe even a direct donation with something anonymous like bitcoin would be nice). Overall though I could probably write a site in my free time and have it up in around ~1-2 months.

Really though I would like to know if you think you might try it and if you have any suggestions/questions.

Thanks! :)

  1. Absolutely. Literotica is so backwards: no search bar on the main page, you have to dig through your profile to get to your favorites, clutter everywhere (sex-oriented news headlines? poetry?). The tag system was the last good idea they had, and of course there’s no access to it on the main page, either. It would be great to have a site with a simple, clean interface and a good search/tag function.

  2. Definitely would its slughtly annoying how its imoossible to sesrch for anything.

  4. I definitely think Literotica needs to be updated, badly, pretty much in anyway. Going there makes me feel like I’m time traveling to the 90’s. I think the best thing it could do is yes update the tag system and the overall layout of the site. I find it hard to navigate and more than a little confusing at times.

  5. I would love to help you out with this project, if you’re interested. I’ve been mulling over how much I hate Literotica’s design for too long, and would be happy to make a better alternative. Shoot me a PM if interested!

  6. I, too, would be glad to help out with this! ASP.NET MVC5 is my tool of my choice for the back-end but I can help with frontend stuff too. Feel free to shoot me a PM aswell if interested! :>

  7. Lit Erotica is clunky and hard to use. I’d like the ability to release stories for free, and then have them automatically expire (or at least no longer public) after a fixed amount of time. Basically, I want a place to share first drafts, get lots of feedback from registered users and then have it disappear.

  8. Thanks for all the offers but I’ve got a portion already written in rails and I don’t know that I’ll need much extra help. Thanks though!

  9. Great idea. From the writer’s perspective, more of a blog-like interface would be appreciated, so I can actually go in and edit my own stories. Or delete them at will. My other suggestion is the review process. Don’t accept stories with 10 typos in the first 10 lines. Then for veteran authors, maybe they could have the special privilege of posting directly and not having to wait for the review process. Let me know when it’s up. I’d be happy to post my stories there. I could also volunteer to be a reviewer. Good luck! Cheers! Alex

  10. Ditto. I have a ten chapter story up there that I’d be more than happy to put up on a newer, easier to use site.
