Finally out of the danger zone and into…

Graduation day was finally here and yet I was disappointed. Sitting in the sun for hours to spend 15 seconds on stage… wish they could’ve mailed it!

The only benefit was the angle I could see him from… from here I could see every smile play across his lips and every leg bounce of boredom. I let my mind run away as row after row of students went in front of me for their stage walk.

At last, just two more rows before my turn! Then I noticed him turn around. Our eyes locked for the briefest moment and he paused. He was looking for me. Waiting for my turn.
I rose with my row and let the wind catch my robe slightly in case he was looking.

I did the silly walk and exited stage left as scripted and performed by 1,000 others today. On my way back to my row I caught his eye again… but this time he rose. He found footing just past the row under his supervision and extended his arms in my direction. Braking formation, I nestled against his for a hug. A second was all that was allowable given the thousands watching but that single second felt like an hour as I memorized the feel of his body against mine. I waited for his breath to caress my neck when I realized he was holding it, also aware of the eyes on us. He released me and I rushed back into place.

Back to my row, back to hours in the sun, back to fantasizing. But that one second pressed together gave me ammunition to go all day. I could feel my panties start to stick to me as a blush tinted my cheeks. I was day dreaming about his hands under this stupid graduation robe… finding the short sundress underneath and the soft red lace thong under that. His fingers could toy as the edges so gently while his lips found mine and… blushing again.

As if he knew where my mind was, he turned to me again. Our eyes locked and I swear a blush found his cheeks too. His eyes were so sure. He held my gaze longer this time… as if inviting me to kick up my feet and stay a while just like this. Alone together in a crowd.

This play could go on all day and it wouldn’t be long enough. But somehow the ceremony was coming to an end. Had they gotten through everybody already? Was it time to throw these flat hats to the air? I was excited for that part but it dulled in comparison to the excitement I felt when I thought maybe his mind was wandering in my direction too.

We exited our rows and popped into a mass. Hats flew into the air and rained down upon us. The moment we spent years studying for was quite literally surrounding us. My hat seemed to have gone a bit less straight than I intended, but it couldn’t have gotten far.

“Sara.” I could feel his breath this time and it warmed my neck as if it were scarf rather than a word. I turned and came face to face with Mr.Kosky. For a moment I glanced at his lips and wondered if this hat could cover a swift kiss. But I didn’t want the first kiss to me like that… I wanted it to be one were we took our time and let our tongues dance in foreplay worthy of writing about.

“Thank you.” Was all I could manage as I gathered the cap from his hands. My fingers brushed the back of his hand and gently tethered us together in the crowd. Alone together again. I was suddenly aware of the distance between us and a desperate need to close it. With eyes locked and just a foot between us I’m lucky I was able to say anything at all.

“You’re welcome. I felt like a bridesmaid catching the bouquet when this flew in my direction. Was it intentional?” He was inquisitive, not accusatory in his question. He was very clearly aware of his effect on me.

“ I don’t think so. I mean maybe? Not like actively but like in sports where then all goes where you’re looking or whatever.” I fumbled out, trying to create something between an excuse and a coherent sentence.

“Well if you would like to do something with more intention, you know where to find me.” A smile crossed his face and all I could think about it how it would taste. I held his eye contact to let him know that I heard him. That I understood the suggestion. He turned away and walked with a purpose. Just a teacher helping a student find her cap and nothing more to anybody who cared to give us a glance.

I found my family and engaged in the required small talk before I could excuse myself and let them know I would meet them at home for the after party. I couldn’t contain my excitement a moment longer and had to force myself not to run across campus.

Autopilot brought me to his door. A twist of the handle found it unlocked. He was here, but was he alone?

I slipped in and took in the room. No lights on, just the natural lighting of the floor-to-ceiling windows lining the right wall. Behind his desk he waited patiently, watching me.
Without turning away, I reached behind me to lock the door. The magnetism guided me across the room as I dropped the gown onto a work station. I wondered if I should take off more, but I wanted to be undressed by him. To feel his frenzied hands on my body, begging for skin to skin contact.

“I was hoping you understood my invitation.” He smirked as he took in the symbolism of the abandoned gown, now a few feet away from me as I moved towards him.

“I’m hoping my interpretation was as good as my English teacher coached me.” A boldness unlike any I had know filled me. A playful smile was on my own face this time and the fumbling faded away at I found myself just a step away from his desk.

His chair swiveled away and I followed suit. We were face to face but he didn’t rise. Another invitation perhaps? He noted my hesitation and extended a hand to me. I took it and found the seat I had been waiting for all year.

As I spread my legs over his lap I discovered that the enthusiasm was not one sided. With just 3 layers of fabric between us, it was the closest we had ever been. His hand stroked the nape of my neck and found purchase in the bed of curls there. He was being gentle as he encouraged me to lean in. Leading but allowing me choose when.

Finally ours lips found each other. The closing of a gap between magnets so strong that the power coursed through my veins and every inch of my body.

A knock at the door broke the silence that had swallowed us. Thank god I had locked the door.
“Mr.Kosky…” I mumbled into his mouth.
“I think you can call me Derrick now. Darling.” I could feel the grin against my mouth and knew that we would both be ignoring that knock.
