Relieving Stress at Work (MF) Part 1 – MORE IN BIO

Alice stared at the email she had just received. She took deep breaths, a desperate attempt to remain calm. The words were there in black and white. The exact words she did not want to see. Not today.

‘Thank you for your time Alice. It was really lovely getting to know you but we’ve chosen to go with another provider in this instance. No hard feelings. Mike x’

She stared out at the sea of empty desks across the office floor. A handful of people still in. A couple from her sales team. As if it hadn’t been a stressful enough day already, that email signalled twenty thousand pounds slipping from her grasp.

Damn Mike. She could hear his voice as she read his email over and over again. She could imagine the slimy smirk he had on his face while he’d composed the email, no doubt wearing a shirt two sizes too small for him just to show off those muscles he so clearly obsessed over. He had used her, no doubt, to get a better offer elsewhere. Nobody used her.

She closed her. She needed some space to cool down. Every part of her body wanted to throw the laptop out of the window but that wouldn’t be a great example to set for her team. Alice stood up, straightened her dress and walked calmly but briskly to the unisex office toilets.

Alice’s reflection stared back at her from the wall-covering mirror. She tied her red hair into a ponytail, then closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she saw Mike in the mirror too. Muscles bulging. The glint in his eyes showing that he had Alice right where he wanted her. His tongue flicked over his lips. Damn Mike. She shut her eyes tight and tried to shake the thought of him from her mind but as much as she tried, she could only see his face and the outline of his body whether her eyes were open or closed.

She closed the cubicle door and sat down. She chewed her thumb nail for a moment. Tension rose within her and showed no signs of slowing. She screamed. As loud as she dare.

The stress was going nowhere. Neither were the images of Mike in her mind. Her teeth dragged over her bottom lip.

Fuck it.

Alice hitched up her dress. Dragged it over her knees until it was bunched around her waist. She took a long deep breath as she slid her fingers into her soft black underwear and began to touch herself.

She closed her eyes. And there was the image of Mike again. He was still looking cocky but this time it was different. The shirt that threatened to burst open already had, displaying his toned muscles to Alice in all their glory. His lips no longer curled into a gratifying smirk, they were too busy. His head was between her thighs and his mouth was being put to use. Her fingers were in his hair as he kissed her inner thigh before pressing his tongue to her. Her body shook. Mike’s tongue flicked over her. His fingers entered her.

Alice pushed her fingers inside her. She allowed herself a quiet moan. Her head rolled back as the stress lifted from her body. Her fingers—

A loud slam shook her.

There was someone else in the toilets.

Shit.

Alice removed her hand and replaced her heels on the cubicle floor. She remained as silent as she could, praying that she hadn’t been heard. They couldn’t have heard her, surely.

Her heart pounded.

Leaning forward, she could see the other person through the crack in the door. It was Lucas, a junior salesman she had hired to her team just three weeks prior. And he was in a rush.

Alice’s eyes widened when Lucas ripped off his shirt. He splashed on some aftershave. Perhaps a little too much, but it filled Alice’s nostrils and it smelt so good. Then, off came the trousers. Lucas stood before her in just his boxers and, while he didn’t quite have the body that Mike had sculpted over the years, there was something about seeing him there that affected Alice in much a similar way.

She lowered her hand once more. Her eyes roamed his body, stopping at his boxers, imagining what might be underneath, praying for a moment that they might be about to come off too.

Lucas topped up his deodorant. Both arms. Again, perhaps a little too much. This time, it caught in Alice’s throat.

She coughed.

She stopped what she was doing. Sat there in complete silence. Lifted her legs from the floor so she couldn’t be seen. She willed Lucas to ignore it and carry on. She had definitely been heard that time.

‘Hello? Is someone there?’
