I asked mom to wake me up on Sunday morning as I’ve grown accustomed to “snoozing” my alarm. I needed some extra motivation to go out for a jog in the early hours.
I remember sleeping on my stomach and waking up to her hands running through my hair. I turned around and greeted her with a smile and stayed there for a while, soaking it all in. I was only covered by my sheets as I had taken off my boxers at night. When it came to get up, I rolled out of bed and nonchalantly stood in front of her, while rubbing my eyes and asking her if she’d care to join me for the job.
